Paul Etchemendy (he/him)
Treasurer
I’ve been the owner of the property that holds The Gathering Place since 2007. What drew me to serve on the board is simple: I believe in the power of community, in supporting one another’s well-being, and in doing what I can to help strengthen the spaces where people come together.
As Treasurer, I support the behind-the-scenes flow of things—helping ensure we’re grounded, organized, and tending to the details that allow the larger vision to thrive.
I was raised as the son of a sheep-herding rancher, and that upbringing shaped much of who I am today. Self-reliance, a can-do attitude, and a strong sense of personal responsibility were values instilled in me early—and they continue to guide the way I show up in the world. I don’t see myself as unique, just someone doing my part.
I tend to be action-oriented—I like to get things done and to be part of building something that lasts. I may not always have the perfect words to explain what I offer, but I try to live in a way that reflects what matters to me.
I don’t have a favorite quote that I turn to, but I do have a practice of looking inward. I believe in self-worth, in listening to my inner voice, and in letting that voice lead. My spiritual path isn’t something loud or flashy—it’s rooted in living with honesty, trusting myself, and staying connected to what feels true.
Serving on the board of The Gathering Place is one way I can support something meaningful. It’s part of my journey, and I’m grateful to be walking it alongside others who care deeply about healing, community, and connection.
